FREQUENTELY ASKED QUESTIONS

I've never had remedial massage before. What should I expect?

During the first session, you will be asked about the history of your condition. For example, where the pain is located, how the pain occured, and how long you have been experiencing the pain. A postural test as well as a range of motion test will be taken and recorded into the client's file. Your information is kept strictly confidential and will be disclosed only with your consent. You may be asked to undress and expose the area that is to be treated. We provide you with privacy and drapings for clients who need to undress for treatment.

How long does the session last?  Will it be painful?

The first session may take between 1 hour 15 minutes up to 1 hour and a half. This session includes taking the client's history as well as the remedial massage therapy itself. The treatment plan is individually tailored and uses a variety of techniques to suit the client's condition. Massage pressure can be adjusted according with each client's comfort level. You will have full control of the treatment through communication and consent. Immediately or in the first 24 hours after the treatment, you may feel some discomfort, but the pain should disappear within 48 hours.

How long does it take to see the result?

Generally, you should feel some relief after the treatment. After subsequent and continuous treatments, you should experience longer periods of relief until the pain or restriction disappears. This will depend of the extent and seriousness of your condition.
